Now open in North Stillwater, The Canyons is located on N Perkins Road, south of N Cimarron Turnpike. Its convenient location provides easy access to Oklahoma State University, Boomer Lake, downtown, and great dining and shopping. Or, jump on the Turnpike for a quick drive to Tulsa or Oklahoma City. 

With lovely lighted streets and plenty of green space, this neighborhood is a charming retreat from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Stillwater. You'll enjoy a fishing pond, walking trails, playground, and wooded areas, giving it a quiet, country feel. 

Stillwater is home to a diverse mix of businesses. We have everything from aerospace to agribusiness. Printing and publishing are also a big export for the area. Oklahoma State University is one of the biggest employers in the area. We are pretty proud of our college teams so it’s important to know that OSU athletics, the duck pond, and homecoming are a big deal here. Every year around 70,000 OSU alumni and friends return to campus to participate in “America’s Greatest Homecoming Celebration” and parade. Animal lovers around the country are trained here in one of the highest-ranked veterinary programs in the country. With its cute downtown area and shopping district, it’s got that quaint small-town feel while providing easy access to both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The Red Dirt music scene originated in Stillwater Oklahoma with Bob Childers. Now it’s a popular music genre and perfect with lots of live music venues around campus. Eskimo Joes is a great venue to see live bands and enjoy a nice night out. This is a family restaurant that does live music twice a week with an eclectic fun vibe.

Attention to finishing details: little things should've been caught by a QI team. i.e. one side of the medicine cabinet frame in the MB is glossy, your sod person should've rolled the sod after they laid down, your mini blind person put a cornice up for the back doors blinds but left them off on all the other window blinds. This creates a more polished and finished look. [name removed] brick layer left overflow of mortar on the first row of bricks in several places. It should've been scraped off and used for the next brick. [name removed] bottom edges of the walls in the garage look incomplete in some sections do to rough edges along the bottom of the sheet rock. Then the interior of the closets are painted all one color, the trim is the same color as the walls. This may seem nitpicky but this is what makes a great home a fantastic home. This is my third home to have built and that's how I know what I've mentioned above.

After 4 months finally found thermostat and HVAC warranty and instructions - left in the attic on the HVAC! [name removed] a great place to leave them since I can't go up stairs. [name removed] was great in following up on the things that still needed to be done and took some time after move-in. Other maintenance problems resolved after calling.

Home is great but we have several issues that were promised and we still have not got them after 5 months. Door knobs that are still gone, cabinets that are broken and haven't been replaced. [name removed] east side of the house was supposed to be sodded after the home next door was built and it is not done. Paint is mis-matched and was told would be fixed and it is not done yet. We have both tubs in the house that have different colored faucets and drains and they have not been replaced yet either.

I appreciate that Ideal provided me with the discounts advertised, even though I wasn't using their financing to purchase the home. I appreciate that everyone I've dealt with at Ideal, including [name removed], [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] in person, as well as those I've dealt with by email, have been super helpful, have followed through in answering questions I've asked or completing tasks I've requested. It's been a very pleasant experience, and I think the home and neighborhood are wonderful.

While I wish my home had spray foam insulation, other than that, I'm reallly satisfied with it, with its tightness, the quality of the materials used, the quality of the build and the neighborhood I'm in.

Every concern that I’ve had has been addressed with two exceptions. Concrete is on the brick and hasn’t been cleaned as I was told it would be. [name removed] sod is very rough and uneven and I was told that it would be rolled.

I’m disappointed that the hole next to the concrete around my gas meter hasn’t been filled in. It was pointed out during the 60 day walk through, documented but never fixed.

Finish work inside of the home is not what it should be. Some walls aren’t squared, the floor tiles aren’t consistent in distance from walls. Electrical work isn’t what I think it should be. Only one switch for all lights in bathroom, when at least three switches should have been put in. You need to use a light over one lavatory and you have to turn on four lights to use one. [name removed] switch for the lights are by the door into the bathroom on the opposite side of the door from the vanity. [name removed] electrical switch for the LR fireplace is on the opposite wall of the FP by the back door of the LR. [name removed] wall cabinets in the laundry room are not the width of the laundry room and are not over both the washer and dryer but over the washer and empty wall space. [name removed] dryer vent rewuires the dryer to be on the exterior wall but the cabinets are up agaist the interior wall leaving a blank unusable wall over the dryer. No thought at all on the placement if the wall cabinets in relation to the W&D. I could continue with other things like the inferior fit of the kitchen cabinet doors and finish of the drywall in the living room.

[name removed] service is good, but ideal homestry to go the cheapest rate for them to fix things. Like not replacing the hot water heater that is going out. I have to keep adjusting the hot water no matter how long my shower is.

Did not like the loan application website of [name removed] [name removed] because it had been revamped due to the government's mandates, and an important item had been left off of the section where one enters their real estate properties. We own several rental properties and the house we live in, and they could not be added to our assets owned because the drop-down menu left off the option for real estate properties, and there wasn't any additional section to add items. We needed them to be listed on the application because, of course, this affects one's net worth and the ratios used by the loan officers to determine if one is eligible for the loan. Everything else we experienced during the purchase to move-in process was great, and we are enjoying our new home.

Anything that has needed to be done, has been addressed early. Getting the products has been the issue. We still have not received a screen for a window that was addressed in our 30 day evaluation.

Overall, we are very satisfied with the customer service and how professional the Ideal Homes employees have handled our requests when we have a problem. They really care about your home and the issues we, as the homeowner, ask about, and they try to solve them by bringing in the contractor ASAP, which is appreciated very much. We still have a lighting issue that isn’t fixed, but the electrician is working on our puck light issue, and hopefully it will be resolved soon. Thank you Ideal Homes for caring about our home “after the sale.”
